Life in the Santa Monica is spectacular! We
want to make sure that you are aware of the attire as I know a lot of you are
beginning to shop for the perfect conference attire! California has a pretty casual vibe. “Resort Casual” will work for all meetings on Sunday and Tuesday.
Nice shorts, casual dresses and even nice jeans are appropriate. The days will be in the 70's, and as we are right on the beach, the nights cool
down to the low 60's, so you definitely need a jacket or sweater at night. All
meetings are indoors, and as you know, sometimes meeting rooms can be chilly
even if it is hot outside, so always have a light sweater. On Tuesday, we will be spending the day in Downtown Los Angeles at the Jonathan Club and City Club Los Angeles, so "Business Casual" will be appropriate dress. No jeans or shorts on this day, please!
Here is a
summary of days and dress:
August 30th for opening session and welcome party – Resort casual. The Welcome Party will be outdoors. No need to change between the opening session and welcome party! Come
right out and grab a cocktail!
August 31st – this day, we are in educational sessions at the Jonathan Club all day, having lunch at City Club Los Angeles and dinner at the Jonathan Club. Business casual for the entire day and no shorts or jeans.
Tuesday, September 1 – education all day at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and then you will have an hour or so to return to
your rooms before we depart for the final Gala, just a few minutes away at the Jonathan Beach Club! "Resort casual" for the day time events and education and "Beach chic"for the gala. The event will be on the sand!

Club Challenge!! We are thrilled to announce that we will once again have a Conference Charitable Giving Project and our benefactor for 2020 will be (drumroll). . . The Women's Alzheimer's Movement (WAM)! Every 65 seconds, a new brain develops Alzheimer’s. Two-thirds of the brains with Alzheimer’s belong to women, and no one knows why that is. The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement is determined to find out. Founded
by Maria Shriver, The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement is a nonprofit
organization that is dedicated to raising awareness about women’s
increased risk for Alzheimer’s and to educating the public — women and
men — about lifestyle changes they can make to protect their brain health.
Through their annual campaigns and initiatives, they also raise dollars to
fund women-based Alzheimer’s research at leading scientific institutions, so that we can better understand this mind-blowing disease and hopefully get closer to a cure. I know our amazing Catering Directors and Club Professionals will rally to get everyone on board with this Charitable Giving project! Please ask your clubs to donate to this incredible cause and bring your donations with you to the conference or donate directly on our Team ACCP donation page on the WAM website Any size donation is VERY appreciated!
What WAM Does
Another way to support WAM is through purchasing the beautiful bracelets made by Rivet Revolution! ACCP has partnered with Rivet Revolution, who donates proceeds from
the sale of their gorgeous bracelets to WAM. ACCP members and supporters
receive 10% off of their purchases and Rivet Revolution is DOUBLING the
donation to 20% to WAM!
